Both Amanda and Jessica, whose blogs I've followed and enjoyed for a quite some time, are posting photos for a little 30 day project. It's simple: just 30 days of natural, journalistic photos that capture the ordinary little things, the tiny mundane moments, that fill our days and color our lives.
Since the beautifully mundane is my favorite subject, I'll be playing along and doing the project here.

More beanpaste photos, more bettah!
Beautiful. I love the 30 days idea.
Lovely. I need a new camera. What do you use (if you don't mind me asking?)
Pleased as punch. Like the idea, looking fwd to your implementation. Such an eye...
Ditto maniclawfulchef. I love your photos.
Wow, now THAT is one of the better ideas I've heard in a long time.
And she is so beautiful. I love that serene shot.
I love the idea, I just want a better camera to play with before I do it.
I am looking forward to more great photos!

Beautful, yes. Mundane, not so much.
Yay! Thirty Melanie photos!
Lovely picture. Great idea! I'll be checking in!

Here through Mrs G and so glad to be.
I have been looking at Amanda's photos and have joined project 366 on Flickr (is there anything more mundane than the photo I posted there of book wrap?)
I am currently obsessing about still lifes and think I might pursue 30 days of that! Hmmm. Once I have read your archives.
Well, thanks for the encouragement everyone! You'll regret it, though, after I post the fifteenth picture of my cat. See? You didn't even know I HAD cats...UNTIL NOW.
Ophelia: My kind husband and family gave me a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi for my birthday. It's a great little starter SLR.
You know how everybody always talks about how children are so beautiful when they sleep? It continues to be true.
That's what it's all about, isn't it?
sounds like a great idea! Saw your interview over on Mrs. G.'s site...too funny!
I got here via Mrs. G
Just wanted to say that we have very similar musical tastes.
Love Thunder Road.
Love Neko Case
Love M. Ward
Can't wait to try your slow cook recipe!!
Kim
I just LOVE the pictures you share!
I'll be looking forward to it. I think you take awesome photos.
I do love the photos. Also wanted to let you know I have been checking you out for a while. Great, funny blog. And thanks for the soup and the poem over Mrs. G.'s way.
Huge Lyle Lovett fan here, too! Can't wait to try the Mulligitawny recipe-I'm on a major Indian food kick right now. Until recently, I had convinced myself I didn't like curry. FOOL!
WHAT is up with lack of Melanie photos? I'm glad Mrs. G pointed it out-I didn't want to be the rude one to mention it first.
Read about you on Mrs. G's site. How is it possible that you and I have the exact same bathroom layout? Same problem here so I don't take baths anymore.
Read your extended bio just now. Mother, may I sleep with danger..I'm still laughing.
Well. . . I visit, but aren't sure if I've ever posted here yet but since Mrs. G claimed that writing as the key, I must agree BUT wow, you can take a mean picture, too. Multi-talenting. My problem is holding that darn camera still. . . lovely here, all around. Maybe I should do the thirty day thing just so there's a horrible foil to the rest. Hey. That's a good idea.
All right, I'll confess - I wondered if I should bother clicking over from Bloglines for a photo of an ordinary moment - and then I did, and wow. Luminous.
Thanks, Melanie - might be a good birthday present for me, too! :)
