Baby, It's (Really, Truly, Appallingly) Cold Outside

The family outing depicted in these photos was not all pink cheeks and frolic and fresh winter air. Not pictured are the runny noses and wet mittens and tears and recriminations.

Memo to Winter: You suck. I know that I've previously complained about this issue, and nobody likes a whiner, but things are getting ridiculous. So, enough with the snow and sleet and icy winds, already. I've had all the nose-wiping one woman can take.

But it does give you the excuse to dress them up cuter than EVER!

Cute though.

Yes, winter sucks ROCKS - I agree. But those kids are so cute! So cute.

My two-year-old is finicky enough to hate a messy nose, but is unwilling to wipe it herself, so whenever her nose runs (about 30 times a day right now), she screams "WIPE MY NOSE OFF!" until I drop whatever I'm doing and attend to her.

It's really charming.

So I feel for you.

It must be that time of year...I just posted on how much winter sucks! Spring seems so far away right now.
Cute pics!

I actually thought of you this morning, as I hung the washing out and it was already too freakin HOT. Maybe, you give me some cold, I give you hot and we'll both be a happy medium :)

I imagine their cute cherub cheeks help ease your pain, just a little.

(I also just noticed the favorite posts on the sidebar. Genius! Just like friends, right? Anyway, great stuff.)

What's not to love about dressing your children in layers ... getting yourself ready to go out ... and once you're out ... 5 minutes later someone has to pee or there's a poopy diaper or the crying is out of control? Yea. Good times.

I'm with you! I loved winter before I had a baby. All cozy and hot chocolate and wine and novels and fireplaces. Now I'm all, there better be some nice weather soon, or my head might spin off my body...

Dude, what the freak is with all of Idaho freezing its rear end off?

Cache Valley is actually pretty warm right now.

Y'all had better not send your freezing spud weather down this direction. GRRR!!!!!

It gets easier when they're able to dress themselves, wipe their noses themselves...and, most importantly, play outside by themselves (while you're inside, ooing and aaaing, and taking pictures through the window with a cup of cocoa nearby).

Poor little bubbie and his red nose.

If it makes you feel ANY better, CA is pretty damn cold as well, and has been for a while. Probably didn't work, huh? Can't blame a girl for trying...

Ah, yes - it always looks like more fun than it was in the pictures. Your kids, by the way, are beautiful.

P.S. I made your tortilla soup last night! It was DE-LISH, and the P-Dawg thanks you because I haven't cooked him a decent meal in months.
