Day 14: Sister, Brother

I watched them on the couch like this, sitting side by side, silently eating their respective snacks, all calm and cool and slumped down like a couple of teenagers. No light strangulation in sight.

It was one of those fleeting moments, the kind you want to grab and tuck in the freezer or hide in the closet under your sweaters. Just so it stays like this, just so.

We keep a picture of our two snuggling each other when they were little stuck to the fridge. When they are arguing and being snarky, I pull it down and say "this is how you should be treating each other"

Sometimes it even works.

Great picture.

Of course it doesn't stay like that but the photo reminds you that they do love each other and that the seeds for sibling friendship when they are older are well and truly there.

Lovely!

I'd be happy if life would just slow down a little. I don't even need a freezer. But it's going by at Mach speed, and I can't absorb all the little moments like the one depicted so beautifully here.

I guess that's why I like photography. It helps us freeze the moment, even if its only 2D.

How blessed/lucky your babies are to have a mama that 'gets it'...that knows if she blinks, it'll be over :)

Sweet SWEET baby toes--thanks so much for sharing!

I officially invite myself to your house to nibble those toes along with the cheeks from an earlier post. And, if I get tired of nibbling cheeks and toes, you may feed me lead paint chips. I'll see you in about, hmmm, 14 hours.

I keep coming back over here to peek at this photo and think of something beautiful to say, but I'm going to go with my gut reaction here: awwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

love those piggies!!!
sometimes when my boys are like that, I'm almost afraid to do anything, in fear of messing up that "see you do like your brother" moment!

Now see, in my house the camera would have ended the moment. It would have reminded them that they're being too friendly.
