Every Little Bit

If you have some time this morning, send some prayers or good vibes or magic love rays towards Idaho. Our infant niece, Isabel, is having brain and skull surgery this morning at 9:30 AM MST. The surgery, performed by a very competent pediatric neurosurgeon and craniofacial pediatric plastic surgeon, will consist of two procedures, together lasting approximately four hours. The procedures are part of an effort to remove the obstacles that are preventing Isabel's head from growing the way it needs to. In simplified terms, a few of the growth plates in her skull have become fused together, and this is causing her head to grow in only one direction (up) instead of all directions at once.

Thanks for your concern. Though I am mired in a bit of a crisis of faith, I am choosing to believe that every little bit helps. And, more than anything, I believe in that sweet kid. (If you'd like to see some pictures and read her full medical updates, we've put together a blog over here.)

We are with you, praying and keeping you close in our thoughts.

(And, on another note altogether, the painting arrived and it is BEAUTIFUL. I can't wait to give it to Sage. Thank you, thank you.)

Thanks for the update, Beanpaste. I've been a little worried about you and your family.

I worked in a hospital... in pediatrics... for 10 years. I'm pretty sure they will take very good care of her and -- I don't know why but I just FEEL this. She'll be OK.

Best wishes,

Kim

Little Isabel is clearly in good hands and surrounded by an obviously strong and loving family. Sending prayers her way.

She is in our daily prayers and last night we stopped at our church and lit a candle in her name.

Take care.

Melanie, you are doing great. Who wouldn't have a crisis of faith over this? I'm thrilled to see her surgery went well.

Because my husband either thinks I'm a heathen or just forgot to modify his pronoun to "we," I will let you know that I, too, check in and pray for your family.

Thank you for taking the time to let us into your world.

blessings.

we all go through our crisis of faith every now and that.We would not be human, not to have questions.
I will admit that I do not attend a church.I totally believe that God is watching over me and does guide me.I just donot thingk that I have to go to some building to visit with God or be told how to worship and when. Not to mention that I have issues with the professors of faith.this is what I mean.weather you call the leader, pator father, mininister, deacon ect.
Nor do I want to be told I'm not a good church member if I donot stuff an envelope with money.

You are all in my thoughts.
