Scamp

"Oh, I SO tired I can't sit up. I falling to my side. I not can sit up anymore. Look, Mom. I SO tired."

"Do you want to take a nap?"

"Um, noooo. Maybe a binky will help with that? Maybe a little bit of a binky?"

"...."

"Mom? Maybe a binky? Will help with that? And then I can stand up."

"Maybe not, buddy."

"OK. I was just tricking you, Mom."

"Yeah, I had a feeling."

richgold, that is also called a passifier. And yes little ones can be trying and also a ton of laughs.my nephew rich is lucky that I did not own a video camera when he was young.Man the fun I could have now.He used to run around in his birthdat suit saying noon, noon, noon, and this was when he was going through the terrible twos/threes.Picture that in your heads every one.

I'm with Kammie. I find that having someone else do all my domestic chores? while I drink frosty draft beers? Helps me stand right on up. PS RichGold, a binky aka paci aka paaaassss is also known as a Pacifier.

Oh, I feel your pain. I have tried everything short of removing a digit, as I can not get my little one to get her thumb out of her mouth.
I loved your idea of the binky fairy and the tree.
Do you think a three-year old would believe in a Thumb-Fairy?

It's a good thing her Auntie G. isn't there-I'm not sure I could resist.

Genius, indeed. I especially love that she announced she was tricking you. That just makes it so much more hilarious.

It is great when they catch on that you have caught on, then try to play it off like it is no big deal.

She put in a good effort.

You are one strong woman to be able to not give in to that and we can't even see the sweet face that went along with it! Too cute.

Awesome bargaining skills! I'm impressed! Muffin will often try that tactic when she wants to suck her thumb. To no avail! Must resist the cuteness! :)

my sons love to tell me "just kidding" or "i was only teasing" when they ask for something and I say no. Weird way to save face LOL.

I would like to point out that her logic would have worked on her grandparents. She just had the wrong audience.

Sounds like a great talent for later in life... my eldest is going to be a lawyer, we're sure of it...
Be strong! No Binky!

God Bless her sweet little heart. You've got a smart one right there. My daughter used to sneak up to her room to take drags on her paci.

We ended up brainwashing her by telling her that pacis were for babies; until one day, when she was a little over 3 years old, she told me that she was a big girl and didn't need it anymore. Just like that. I'm planning to brainwash her on all of the important milestones in life. :-)

Good luck! You are the funniest!

We had a binky addict too...I cut hers up when she turned three. My second was a thumb addict, however, we couldn't cut up his thumbs. He only sucked his thumb when he had his blankie. One day we decided no more blankets...there were a few rough nights where he couldn't sleep. I won't tell you how old he was when we finally got around to it...he may have trouble getting into a good college then.

Oh, my God, how CUTE is that?!

that is the most beautiful child. And smart. I, too, find that glass of wine is helpful in standing.

A Binky works for just about everything, doesn't it? I wish I had a grown-up equivalent that was noncaloric.
