The children, wet-headed and cool-skinned, wrapped in dry clothes but still smelling faintly of baby sunscreen and damp leaves, are languid on the couch after a long, sunny day in the wading pool. They are silent, their limbs loose and still, as they slump together, glassy-eyed, in front of a cartoon. They are bone-tired. Is there an exhaustion nicer, a pleasure lazier than the kind that comes after being in water and sunshine for hours?
(On second thought, Summer, this might work out after all.)
For lovely Stacy's project, Attitude of Gratitude, which is way better than my usual Attitude of Slight Suckitude project.
