The Pefect Sandwich (With Side Of Filthy Pirate)

Lurid Sandwich
I finally made the world-famous Thomas Keller Perfect Sandwich the other night and it was, indeed, all that. Since I was guest-blogging (nerd!) for my good friend Heather G. and concerned that her Johnny-Depp-obsessed legion of readers would lose interest in my foodie sandwich bore-a-thon, I cooked with a Jack Sparrow action figure.

If you're into that kind of thing, you can read about it here. If you just want the Keller recipe, sans filthy pirate, you can get it here.

Sandwich Guts
Mmmmmmmm. Yolky.

"Yolky." I like it. It's my new adjective.

I loved this so so so much, and I really want to make that sandwich.

By the way, I have the SAME DISH TOWEL as shown in one of the photos on Derfward Manor. It's quite strange; maybe I'll bring it to Seattle as proof. Because that wouldn't be weird at all.

The "cooked with a Jack Sparrow action figure" and the picture totally cracked me up. As did the title of the post.

Sadly (for me), despite the gorgeous photography, no way am I eating a sandwich with a fried egg. But I may start cooking with action figures.

Stumbled across your site - love your style and the beautiful images. I appreciate the "photography for dummies" post. I'm anxious to read more... I need to go make a "Perfect Sandwich" though.

Yummy! I did pop on over to Mrs G's site to get the full Jack Sparrow experience. Very fun!

I made myself a fried-egg-and-cheese sandwich last night for dinner. I just had such a craving after reading this. ;) It's my vegetarian version.

Eggs and pirates. What more could a single girl want or need? Oh, I know, CHEESE. This is indeed a perfect sandwich.

I linked your sandwich at Mrs. G's, it made my mouth water. So I had to read the Roomba blog and the Twinkie Sushi blog. Funny, sooo funny. I wish I could fix robots as good as you. : )

My husband and sons love fried egg sandwiches! And I thought they were the only ones. Although yours looks much yummier than the ones they make, I might be tempted to try that.
