Contents of a Post-Walk Pocket

contents of a post-walk pocket
Someday my pockets won't be filled with rocks and weeds and fungi and...

..no. No, who am I kidding: they'll probably be like that long after the kids are gone.

My younger son used to pick up rocks everywhere and present them to me like they were the most wonderful gift ever. Well, they were. So we made a pretty rock garden around a tree. The rocks are still there, even though he's a grown-up 13 now.

Pretty soon you'll find the contents of your children's pockets have gone through the washer. Fungi everywhere!

My father-in-law labels and keeps the rocks that Violet hands him when they go on walks together.

At least you got the rock out before you put those jeans in the washing machine...

I still clean out the pockets of my big, grown-up man husband. And I sometimes find rocks.

You should see what I fill my pockets with after a day of teaching high schoolers.

No you shouldn't.

Though there might be mushrooms sometimes...
