The Pigs, They Are Flying
So, I'm updating my blog and, given the lame rarity of that event, I'm illustrating it with a flying pig, a flying pig lovingly crafted by Ellie as my Mother's Day gift. She actually just walked past and exclaimed, "Oooooh! Click on my pig! You really LOVE it don't you?" She's right. I really love this pig. Were it not for my daughter and her unique color sense, I would have never noticed that my interior decor was bereft of ceramic winged farm animals. In fact, I don't have any wingless farm animals, either, and a general violent allergy to tchotkes, but still: I really love this porker, right down to his one pink foot.
You know what else I love?
Sharks. If there's anything Jimmy knows about his mother, it's that she really loves sharks.
The best part of both these gifts is that knowledge that Ellie and Jimmy were secretly escorted to the ceramic studio by my husband and my father, TOGETHER. My husband and my father, not paint-your-own ceramic joint kind of guys in the least, went on a little ceramic date together and helped the kids do this (they also made a set for my mom: horse and rattlesnake(!)) and I could not be more delighted. I'm expecting ceramic weirdness for every major holiday, boys.
At any rate, on to summer! See you tomorrow...
